I want to continue my Bible reading, only at a slower pace in 2020 and 2021. I feel the need to chew a little longer on the passages I read. So in 2020 I plan to read the first half of the Old Testament and all of the New Testament and Psalms. Then in 2021 I will read the second half of the Old Testament and again all of the New Testament and Psalms. Won’t you join me?
I plan to write brief posts on my His Whisperings blog to introduce each book of the Bible as we begin to read it, and hope others who are reading with me will add comments as we read.
I have also set up a Facebook group Two-Year Bible Reading Plan to encourage people to follow the plan and share from what they are learning.
This reading plan was developed many years ago by Robert Murry M’Cheyne. I stretched it out over two years, while he originally planned it all in one year reading the Psalms and the New Testament twice. I used this plan full strength the first time I read through the entire Bible 16 years ago, and at that time created some bookmarks to use to help me keep up with the reading schedule. Feel free to download my Two-year Bible Reading Plan bookmarks here.
The bookmarks may be printed back-to-back in four reading tracks so that each will be good for two months. Be careful to feed the paper for the back of each page with the top of the bookmarks to the left so they will be continuous in the same reading track. If this is too confusing, just print the bookmarks on one side of the paper and carefully sort them into four sets matching the headings.
