Jonah: The Fearful Prophet and The Creation – Press Release

Retired elementary school librarian and author of four books for children, Janice D. Green of Hemingway has her newest books, The Creation, and Jonah: The Fearful Prophet, published in three formats by Honeycomb Adventures Press, LLC.  Her Launch Month is August 2020.

Green is a Christian writer whose writing goal is to retell Biblical stories. “Our nation is suffering from a lack of Bible literacy,” Green said. “I write for children, yet the material I draw from, God’s Holy Word, is timeless and written for all ages. In retelling these stories I simplify the language to engage the children and clarify what might confuse them. Well-written stories can engage both children and those reading to them.” Green’s retelling gives more than highlights, while some parents may be surprised to make new discoveries as well. In addition to the retelling, she further encourages dialog between children and their parents with engaging discussion questions.

Two-Year Bible Reading Plan for 2020 & 2021

I want to continue my Bible reading, only at a slower pace in 2020 and 2021.  I feel the need to chew a little longer on the passages I read. So in 2020 I plan to read the first half of the Old Testament and all of the New Testament and Psalms. Choosing a Bible to read through in a year

6216761_sSo you plan to read through the Bible in 2019. Good for you! I hope you will participate in the chronological Bible reading plan as announced in my earlier posts, with more posts to follow throughout 2019 on this blog  Bible Bites 4 You and on FB.

Which Bible will you read? While there are no hard and fast rules about which translations we should read, a Bible that is right for you will increase the probability that you will stick with your reading plan and finish well. There are many Bibles and translations to choose from, so invest a little time at the beginning. Week 1 – Genesis 1-11 & Job 1-16

I’m posting this first week early so that people who are considering joining us on our journey through the Bible in 2019 will be able to peek at what they can expect to find on a weekly basis as the new week’s passages are posted. I am also looking for suggestions in the comments below on the kinds of things that would be the most helpful and encouraging to readers.
